Been coming here for years and it’s wonderful during any season! Usually pretty quiet, especially if you go on the trails in the woods. The river is super nice to walk along and hop rock to rock. If you go up to the top of the river, there’s a big rock you can sit and contemplate life on.
We have been to Hedden Park twice (fall and winter) and we love its serenity and beauty. There is ample parking space outside the park. It has a large lake, a pretty stream and multiple walking trails. Picnic benches and grills are available for the summer months.
Historic Hedden Park has always been one of my favorites! I grew up on a street that was walking distance for 22 years of my young life. I could take Reservoir Ave or walk through the woods and find the trails to get to the main park. Not only are there tons of trails for walking and hiking, the scenery and the views will take your breath away. Winter, summer, fall and spring. The abundance of trees and mountains are just beautiful! My favorite season is in the fall when the leaves are starting to change color. It’s just breathtaking! I also love going after a big storm. The streams are overflowing with powerful water rapids. My favorite spot to visit is Indian Falls. It has multiple water falls running off enormous rocks all the way down the mountain (I added pictures with this review). You have to take a trail that’s about a ten minute walk to reach it, up hill, but it’s well worth it. The trail is located at the second entrance bottom parking lot. I always visit this spot every time I visit Hedden Park. It’s my happy place, my me time, my therapy. You also can picnic pretty much anywhere in the park, even in the woods by the trails and streams. They have tiny BBQ pits where you can cook and picnic tables. They also have a main picnic area located at the center of the park that is under a big gazebo like structure. Restrooms are also located there as well. Also, bring bread or snacks! The ducks in the main pond always love to come and visit and snack. It’s a great place for all ages and especially kids. Dog owners will love this location as I brought my childhood dog and recent dog for walks in the trails and throughout the park. They love it just as much as I do. If you have never been to this location I 100% recommend it! I promise you will become a frequent flyer all year round!
Nice park to relax and walk on nature by the river. Getting beautiful now10/2023
Gorgeous and serene streams and mini waterfalls. Picnic tables and clear paths for families and marked trails for more serious hikers. My pup loves it here as do I.
Nice park for a picnic and the place is big..
When we visit New Jersey we go here..people please this is a beautiful hiking trail ...please
. good respectful behavior is pleasurable and pleasing to the eyes...and please be respectful of nature and please follow parks rules and guidelines as to what and what not to do and where to go...and stay on trails!...and you will avoid heartache and will of course avoid getting lost!!! Our family and pets love the walk!
Great park to walk paved, gravel, and dirt trails, some hills and some rocky wet trails. Great little bridges throughout, some falls and Pavillion and other areas to picnic or have an event. Lots of parking areas and just a quiet enjoyable place unless a baseball game is going on in their very clean and large field area. Easy access from two entrances and close to route 10 and 46 but u won't hear any traffic! Check it out.
